Refund and Returns Policy

All Sales Are Final
Steep Current sells loose-leaf tea — a consumable food product. For food-safety reasons we cannot accept the return of, resell, or refund tea once it has left our facility, whether the pouch is opened or unopened. By placing an order you acknowledge that all purchases are final and non-returnable, except in the three limited cases described below.
The Only Exceptions
We will make it right if, and only if:
- Your order arrived damaged in transit;
- We shipped you the wrong item; or
- Your package was lost in transit and the carrier confirms it was never delivered.
How to File a Claim
Email [email protected] within 7 days of delivery (or, for a package that never arrived, within 7 days of the carrier’s expected delivery date). Include:
- Your order number;
- A clear photo of the product and the shipping packaging (for damage claims); and
- A short description of the problem.
Claims submitted after 7 days, or without the information above, cannot be processed.
Our Remedy
If your claim is approved, we will, at our sole discretion, send a free replacement or issue store credit. A refund to your original payment method is provided only at our discretion and is not guaranteed where a replacement or store credit has been offered.
Lost or Stolen Packages After Delivery
Once the carrier marks your order “Delivered,” responsibility for the package passes to you. We are not liable for packages that are stolen, misplaced, or reported missing after a delivery scan. As a courtesy we will help you open a claim with the carrier, but we are not obligated to replace or refund such orders.
Cancellations and Changes
We ship quickly — typically within 1–2 business days. We can only cancel or change an order (including the shipping address) before it enters fulfillment. Once an order has been packed or shipped, it cannot be cancelled or modified, and our standard policy above applies.
Incorrect Addresses and Refused Deliveries
You are responsible for entering a correct, complete shipping address. Orders returned to us due to an incorrect address, an uncollected package, or a refused delivery are not eligible for a refund. If you would like the order reshipped, you are responsible for the additional shipping cost.
Returns We May Choose to Accept
We are under no obligation to accept any return. In the rare event we agree, in writing, to accept a return of an unopened item, you are responsible for return shipping, a 20% restocking fee applies, and the balance is refunded as store credit only. Do not send any product back without our prior written authorization; unauthorized returns are discarded without refund.
If a Refund Is Approved
Approved refunds (when granted at our discretion) are issued to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.
